Title: Perfect your everyday problem solving skills with the Toyota Kata

Facilitator: Marc-Olivier Legentil, Bell Nordic

Presentation outline:

This workshop will focus on learning the kata improvement and the kata coaching using playful practical exercises carried out in a small work group.

Using these katas, you will learn to:
– Eliminate the obstacles you encounter on a daily basis through rapid improvement and problem-solving cycles
– Draw lessons from these experiences
– Facilitate continuous improvement meetings
– Develop your coaching skills in problem solving.

The workshop will be facilitated in French only.


Speakers spotlight

Darren Slind, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Clarify Group Inc.

Darren Slind joins Clarify Group as equity partner and Managing Director after a distinguished tenure leading global business units for J.D. Power. Most recently, Darren led the Company’s operations across South Asia, South East Asia and Oceania as Region President. He was responsible for client service and the delivery of voice-of-the-customer based insights and solutions that supported the growth and success of automotive clients across nine countries including India, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia. Prior to his assignment in Singapore, Darren led automotive operations in Canada and Latin America from 2011 to 2017 as Senior Director.

He has consulted with leading brands across several industries to achieve business performance gains through a deeper understanding of customer expectations and the alignment of key customer touch points to these expectations.

Darren earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and an MBA with distinction from the Schulich School of Business, York University. He completed the Digital Business Strategy online executive program at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2020.

Marc-Olivier Legentil, Senior Consultant, Bell Nordic inc.

Marc-Olivier Legentil (M.Sc.) cumulates over 10 years of experience in several roles related to quality management, continuous improvement, logistic, and operation management. He has worked for companies such as L’Oréal, Electrolux, Accedian and Belron Canada. He has a B.A.A and a M.Sc. from HEC Montréal.

He is a Certified Six-Sigma Master Black Belt (ÉTS) and a trainer on topics such as process mapping, Toyota Kata, Lean Six-Sigma and operation management. Marc-Olivier is a co-author of the Toyota Kata Memory Jogger. He is responsible for process improvement and coaching projects using the Toyota Kata method and wrote a master’s thesis on the impact of Toyota Kata on organization’s culture in order to sustain continuous improvement.

Marc-Olivier Legentil consulting focuses on improving productivity and quality through facilitation and workshop facilitation mainly in the municipal, manufacturing, construction and technological sectors.

Charles Aubry, Account Manager, Progi

Charles Aubry is an entrepreneur who has worked in the automotive parts industry for over 20 years. During the last decade, he joined Progi and became a national expert in shop capacity planning. He has contributed to several conferences and specialized articles. Many of his clients have had great success thanks to his advice and the use of ProgiPlanning.

 

 

 

Jean-Luc Sauriol, Director Business Development Canada, asTech power by Repairify

Jean-Luc Sauriol is Director of Canadian Business Development for asTech, a Repairify company. He has spent the past 35 years following his passion for diagnostics technology and technical problem-solving in the automotive sector. He began his career as a chief mechanic at the Spenard David Racing School and later began the first mobile troubleshooting company in the Montreal area, called Diagno-Pro. After earning his degree at Sherbrook University in 1990, his career led him to the automotive training field. He eventually became Director of the TechNet support line and Training Manager for CARQUEST Canada in 2003. In 2006, he developed an OBD3 EBRS-based repair solution, which was acquired by ALLDATA in 2013. He remained there until 2020, when he joined asTech.

Didier Dubois, Strategist, HR Marketing and Digital HR Solutions, HRM Groupe

Didier Dubois has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. In 2006, he co-founded HRM Groupe. This HR Marketing consulting group specializes in supporting organizations to improve the attraction and retention of human resources.

He is the author of several articles on human resources and also speaks at numerous conferences across Canada and in France.

Finally, Didier Dubois is the co-author of the book “How to attract and retain employees” (Comment attirer et fidéliser des employés ) published in 2009 by Éditions Transcontinental as well as the books “RH 2.0: Survival guide for recruiting on the Web” (RH 2.0 : Guide de survie pour recruter sur le Web) published in 2010, “How to build your use of social media” (Comment bâtir votre politique d’utilisation des médias sociaux ) published in 2011 and republished in 2018, “How to build the career section of your website” (Comment bâtir la section carrières de votre site Web) published in 2012 and “How to build an eye-catching job offer” (Comment bâtir une offre d’emploi accrocheuse ) published in 2013 by Éditions Yvon Blais (Thomson Reuters). Didier is the co-founder of the e-magazine FacteurH.com.
